Magnetostrictive float level meter RIZUR-NMT
RIZUR-NMT is a magnetostrictive float level meter designed for the continuous level measurement of one or more media, including aggressive ones. RIZUR-NMT is used, for example, at gas stations, oil depots, fuel and liquid gas storages in many branches of the industry: chemical, food, oil-refining, etc.
This device is used for monitoring and control of the technological processes, metering operations, etc. in both closed and open territories in different objects, including those in the hazardous areas (requires special design variants). RIZUR-NMT can operate in the presence of vibrations and other the adverse effects of atmospheric conditions, as well as chemical peculiarities of the measured media (foam, bubbles).
RIZUR-NMT has several design variants and is used for the following:
· continuous transformation of the upper level and interface level of the medium;
· measuring the volume and temperature of the controlled media;
· digital indication of the parameters;
· relay and visual alert for the danger level of the media.

Design and operating principle
Magnetostrictive float level meter RIZUR-NMT has several design variants depending on the installation type and can be manufactured for direct installation on-site as well as installation in a by-pass pipe.
The level meter consists of an electronic unit with a lid and an opening for a cable gland. Rod waveguide is in turn mounted on top of the electronic unit. It can also have, depending on the design version of RIZUR-NMT, a float with a retainer ring, mounting elements, a protection gasket.
There’s an impulse coming from the electronic unit that is located inside the waveguide that creates a vertical magnetic field along the whole length of the rod. The measurement starts the moment the impulse appears. Parallel to the waveguide, there’s the float’s magnetic field that creates mechanical deformation of the waveguide with the help of magnetostriction. A mechanical wave is reflected from it that goes through the waveguide and into the transducer, is repressed at the other end and transformed into an electric signal. At that moment the measurement stops.
