Non-contact radar level meter RIZUR-2030

Device from the last-generation of non-contact radar level transmitters of RIZUR-2000 series. RIZUR-2030 uses progressive non-contact radar level measurement technology and is designed for continuous control and level measurement without direct contact with the media. Intended use and application area

RIZUR-2030 is used in tankers, vessels, open and closed reservoirs, process units, natural and artificial ponds. The device measures the amount of the following substances:

  • liquids (draining and polluted waters, petroleum products, liquids with catalytic fines, gaseous liquids, foam, viscous, adhesive compositions, any solutions, including aggressive and chemical media)

  • solids (grains, gravel, sand, coal, concrete, soot, etc.)

Non-contact radar level transmitter is used in different spheres and branches of the industry:

  • community facilities,

  • cleansing and desalination facilities,

  • agroindustrial complex,

  • electric power industry,

  •  food, pharmaceutical, medical, petrochemical, oil-and-gas, construction-and-building industry.

Design and operating principle

RIZUR-2030 consists of a monoblock, primary transducer combined with an electronic module. The electronic module has a body and a lid made of aluminium alloy. There’re clamps under the lid for the connection of the cable that enters through the cable glands. There’s a LED indicator on the level meter housing that turns green when the reflected from the surface level waves are within the set limits. If there’s no signal within that range, then the light will be red.

Non-contact radar level meter RIZUR-2030 has the following operating principle: it is treated with an electromagnetic signal with its frequency changing once in a while.  Emitted and reflected radio signals cause the frequency difference signal to appear. It’s proportionated to the distance from the sensor to the media surface. After that, the radio-wave signal of difference frequency between the emitted and reflected signals generate the current output signals. They are proportionated to the present value of the measured media level (accuracy±1mm).

The advantages of the non-contact radar level meters

  1. Parts of RIZUR-2030 are virtually not affected by corrosion, because the measurement is done without direct contact with the controlled media.

  2. RIZUR-2030 has no direct contact with the controlled media and so can be used for measuring contaminated media as well as media that requires special sanitary conditions.  

  3. RIZUR-2030 has no moving parts, so they require almost no technical maintenance.

  4. Temperature or pressure changes do not influence the accuracy of measurements.

  5. There’s no need to correct the level meter settings if the density or electric conductivity of the media changes.

According to the metrological characteristics the level switch RIZUR-2000 is classified among the equipment for in-process control (does not require metrological calibration test).
