Insulated tubing bundle with an electric tracing RizurPak-E

NPO RIZUR offers RizurPak-E systems with self-regulating heating cable as a heating source. Pre-insulated tubing bundle RizurPak-E with electric heating is designed for protection against freezing, maintenance of required temperature in a small range or for maintenance of the required media viscosity.


Intended use and design description

RizurPak-E ensures temperature maintenance within the range of 10°C ... 121°C because the self-regulating heating cable lessens heat release as the process tube is heated. In order to provide accurate control of the required temperature it’s necessary to use thermoregulator.

RizurPak-E is an ideal solution for temperature maintenance along the whole length of pipelines and impulse lines.

Insulated tubing bundles RizurPak-E are different in quantity, process pipe diameter, weight, and size.

RizurPak-E1 — one pre-insulated process pipe with electric heating.

RizurPak-E2 — two pre-insulated process pipes with electric heating.

Design variants of RizurPak-Е (depending on the tracing used)

1. Low-temperature

In this design variant low temperature self-regulating heating cable BTV is used as a heating element. BTV cable can withstand medium temperature of up to 65°C (constantly) and up to 85°C (temporally). Insulated tubing bundles RizurPak-E of the low-temperature design variant is mainly used for protection against freezing or for maintaining temperatures of up to 37°C.

2. High-temperature

In this design variant, high-temperature self-regulating heating cable XTV is used as a heating element. XTV cable can withstand medium temperature of up to 121°C (constantly) and up to 250°C (temporally). Insulated high-temperature tubing bundle RizurPak-E is mainly used for medium temperature maintenance up to 121°C. For maintenance of higher temperature, it’s possible to use two electric heating tracers in one bundle. This design variant is used for protection against freezing in technical processes and operating conditions that anticipate temporal temperature rise during, for example, steam operation.

If higher temperatures are required – it’s possible to use two electric tracers within one bundle.

3Customized

This design variant of RizurPak is used for high-temperature processes as well as for maintenance of temperatures above 121°С. In this design variant it’s possible to use two electric heating tracers in one bundle, while self-limiting or resistive cables can be used as a heat tracing. This design variant of RizurPak-E is designed for process temperatures of up to 800° and so its parameters are calculated individually in accordance with the process conditions.

Accessories and components

For connection and installation of the pre-insulated impulse tubing bundles to the pipelines, technical process and devices the following equipment can be used:

Silicone insulation

Black silicone insulator RTV used for hermetization of both ends of the tubing bundle for protection against moisture penetration.

Input device for the tubing bundles RizurPak

Input device for the tubing bundle RizurPak provides waterproof insulation in the place of tubing bundle RizurPak entering the enclosure, for example, through a wall. The input device for the tubing bundle RizurPak consists of a set of rings and a heat-shrinking cap for tubing bundle insulation.

Heat shrink tape sleeve

Heat shrink tape sleeves ensure insulation of the ending part of RizurPak that protects the system against climatic factors impact. The material used is thermally stabilized modified polyolefin. It’s recommended to use heat shrink tape sleeves for all the open endings of the tubing bundle. This sealing method provides the best protection against climatic factors impact.

Repair kit for the housing

The repair kit for the housing is used for sealing the connections in the tubing bundle or for the elongation of the insulation layer and the housing that protects the system against climatic factors in cases when during installation the cut piece was too long or if there’s a need to join two tubing bundle cuts. The materials in the kit are used for any repairs of tubing on-site. The repair kit is necessary when mounting an additional thermostat for temperature control of the process tubing. Each kit has a thermal insulation material, fiberglass tape, and a self-sealing patch.

A set of heat shrink tape sleeves for high-temperature heating cables

The set complies with the CENELEC and GOST-R standards for operation in the hazardous areas. It's used with tracers MN and N15 or N20 of any capacity.

A set of heat shrink tape sleeves for low-temperature heating cables

The set complies with the CENELEC and GOST-R standards for operation in the hazardous areas. It can be used with tracers of any capacity.

A kit for connecting the heating cable to the power supply network

The kit consists of a cable gland and a set of heat shrink tape for installation inside the terminal box with M25 thread. It complies with CENELEC and GOST-R standards for use in hazardous areas. It can be used with tracers P, MN, and N15 or N20 of any capacity.

Standard parameters

Each graph shows standard parameters with summer/winter ambient conditions divided. Each graph is divided at the 16 °С point to designate seasonal difference. In the winter period, when the temperature is below 16 °С, the wind is expected to be about 40 km/h, and in summer the temperature is above 16 °С and the wind is about 16 km/h. For protection against freezing consider 10 °С the minimal permissible temperature of the process pipe. This will provide sufficient reliability.
